10:40 PM ● not quite a win, not quite a loss, but still horrid

i have started a new degree because i am a masochist with nothing better to do with an unfounded fear of being an adult (i'm really reading too deep on this, really there's just nothing to do with my degree) so that means summer is over and now is a chance for us to see how horrifically i failed at my list of books to read.
shall we take a look at my shame?

the lie is still half finished. i doubt at this point i will ever finish it
i like you just the way i am is still half finished. i'll probably finish it before i graduate with my 2nd degree. no promises, thought.
harry potter 1-7 consider this a success
naked lunch i didn't even pull from the shelf tbh.
trainspotting i brought it with me on my vacation. that has to count for something
let's pretend this never happened finished omg she's hilarious
furiously happy is on my phone. i read it when there's nothing to do
the lady in the van i read like, 4 pages, and decided that the movie was probably better
the martian was done in a day on a sleepless night. 11/10 would recommend
catch-22 another one that never quite made it into the pile of books i was going to read
fahrenheit 451 ... fuck i don't even know where it is at this point
breakfast at tiffany's is another one that never made it off the shelf to the pile. it's like my subconscious was telling me i'd never read these books (it was right)
barney's version is still safely tucked away in a shelf that isn't even a bookshelf in the family room beside some harry potter colouring books. yep.
the rules of attraction is currently being read because when you can't sleep you have to have something to do that isn't reddit.

i did read one that wasn't on my list: american psycho. it took me literally all summer but i finally finished it and tbh i have not a fucking clue as to what i read. bret easton ellis, you sick genius, wtf?

awesome total: 10 (i included each HP book as it's own) out of a possible 20. 50% i'm actually pleased with this number. it's more than i thought i'd finish, which isn't saying much.

oh well. on to less interesting things, like a second degree (what the fuck was i thinking?!)

xxxxxx
