3:02 PM ● flow sweetly, hang heavy

i love fall. i never used to; this is something that's come up in the last few years. there's something about seeing the leaves change colour, the weather get cooler. it's time to bring out your woolies and mittens, perhaps a heavier jacket. summer is by far my most cherished season, don't get me wrong, but i really sink my teeth into fall. only because it's fall.

there's something inherently romantic about fall. sure, it's a season where you get to cozy up to one another, a season filled with mischief. halloween is in the fall. it'd be weird (although better for skimpy costume wearers and kids) if halloween was in the summer. think about it! july 31st, halloween. can't wrap you head around it? neither can i. pumpkins don't even appear in stores until the middle of september, maybe even later depending. well, i hope it's later. they rot by the time you need to carve them.

i'm just ripe with ideas for this fall. parts of it inspire me, i suppose you could say. i'm not sure why, but i find it better to people watch in this season than in any other.
but all good things must come to an end, sadly.
winter rears its ugly 9 month long head when you least want it to (i.e this upcoming weekend). that reminds me, i need new mittens. maybe a new toque.

on another note, completely irrelevant to what i've been saying, everyone should download thom yorke's 'all for the best'. probably one of the best songs i've heard in a long time. i'm going to be a complete nerd here, but i listen to it on repeat about 4 times a day. no kidding. the lyrics are so ghosty and sad, the beat is catchy. the best of both worlds during fall.

' waking up and the bed was made-- no one looked me in the eye. more i try, more i cry and it's all for the best.
watched my brother cutting grass outside. sitting on the porch he told me it's a long way to go before we can rest, but it's all for the best.
you're so beautiful it sings on a lonely, lazy morning. and when i see you rocking back and forth, whispering it's all for the best.
one day the stone will roll away. soon you'll see you're far away from home but never far away from me and that's all for the best.
... say you love me.
promise me son, not to do the tings i've done. walk away from trouble at the end of the day. say you love me, say you love me.
let's just say you love me... '

ahhhh back to the grind folks... class time has arrived.
